Are you looking for some marvelous activities for this fall? I don’t know about you, but we get tired of the same activities over and over again. So I decided to share some of my favorite fall family activities so you can rock mommyhood this fall!

11 Awesome Fall Family Activities That Will Make You More Excited for This Colorful Season
For my family, we are looking for activities that are low cost or free because this momma wants to stretch her budget as far as possible.
1. Visit the Zoo
My kiddos love the zoo, but I hate going during summer time. I mean seriously who wants to go sweat all day just to see Tiger who is doing nothing but napping because it is too freaking hot outside. And never mind the fact that the ‘zoo smells’ are so much more prominent during summertime.
Our favorite time of the year is Spring or Fall to visit our zoo. One thing I love about our zoo is its extra activities it plans around the season. You can always find something new to see, and most of the animals are happier with cooler weather.
2. Pick a Pumpkin
My kids love to visit our local pumpkin patch! Who can think about fall and not instantly see a pumpkin? A lot of pumpkin patches will have other activities set up for you so you can enjoy your visit. From small animal petting area, corn mazes, and even slides your kids will love visiting there. Plus you can come home and make an amazing homemade pumpkin pie.
3. Go Hiking
When I say hiking it is not some super strenuous hike, but just a leisurely stroll through you favorite trails. Take time to enjoy the changing leaves and smell the crisp, fresh air. Fall is a beautiful time to plan a trip to some of USA National Parks. Locally we like to go to Bernheim Forest it is about 30 minutes away and well maintained.
4. Get a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
I don’t know about you, but for me, Fall hasn’t started till I’m sipping on my Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks! (Caffeine always helps me be a better mom LOL)

Did you know you can order your favorite Starbucks Syrup to use at home? I am going to order some Starbucks Toffee Nut Syrup. It is my go-to flavor when Pumpkin Spice is not in season.
5. Host a Chili Cook-Off
What would be better than hosting a chili cook-off? You could even have a simple awards ceremony. Here is my chili secret: I love to flavor mine with Flavor God Seasonings! His Everything Seasoning and Garlic Lovers are fantastic, and add tons of flavor to my chili!

6. Have a Bonfire
Tip: Use a fire pit to keep yard tidy.
7. Go Camping
Camping can be such a fun activity for families. I still remember going camping as a kid, and it was an excellent memory. If you can get away, you could still ‘camp’ in the backyard. Just grab a tent and a few other supplies and start making memories!
8. Go to a Football Game
Your family can have so much fun at a football game. And they don’t have to be expensive. Don’t worry about going to a professional game instead just go to a local high school game (a LOT cheaper and way fewer crowds). Or you can even host a ‘Tailgate’ Party at home and invite friends over to watch the big game.
9. Take Family Pictures
Fall is a perfect time to take family pictures! I know a lot of my photographer friends run ‘mini’ packages that would be a perfect way to get your family photo. If hiring a photographer isn’t in the budget this year, you can always have an impromptu photo session of your own. If you need a few tips on photography, you can’t go wrong with Creative Live. They have tons of classes available, and some are even FREE!
10. Plan a (Kid-free) Picnic
Parents need time alone to keep your marriage healthy, and fall is a beautiful time of year to have a picnic. Take a little time for you as a couple. A little kid-free time can do wonders for your relationship. Get your picnic basket packed with boddle of wine and relax a little bit.
11. Plan a Weekend Trip
Planning a little weekend getaway to Smoky Mountain will be an amazing way to see the fall leaves change their colors. For our last trip, we loved using VRBO! The rental and owner were fantastic. We were able to find a home for less than a cost of a hotel.
Bonus Activity: Don’t forget to plan something just for you. Even if it is just a girls night out or a simple trip to Michaels. Mommas need that little alone time to help save your sanity. Sane Mom=Happy Kids=Happy Family 🙂
